silver rocket.

Sonic Youth

ok, so sonic youth.
they're big.
and they're coming to adelaide.

i already have my ticket, as considerding they are my favourite band. so it seems a little daunting writing a post about them as i don't want to do any injustice to their rep, but yeah.
they've been around since about 1981 and been making fucking awesome music all the way through.
it wasn't that long ago that the 'don't look back' tour was announced with adelaide being announced as being first off the ranks.
playing the full daydream nation album will be an experience that no doubt i wouldn't forget quickly about.
if you haven't actually heard of them beofre, bad times. hard to explain, but their music is heavily infulenced by garage bands like the stooges and what could be called experimental bands such as the velvet underground. thurston moore uses crazy tunings and shoves all kind of shit in his guitar.

if i say any more im saying too much.
or not enough, whatever..

watch this video of them playing silver rocket, amazing.

MOLLy PePper

this is what molly pepper describes him/her/themsel(f)(ves) as:

"MOLLy PePper is the mastermind of artists motivated by various creative connivances. By her side, they are no longer independent creative peculiarities, but several looks emerging from different forms of Art, therefore acting like a research motor within an aesthetical discussion.
MOLLy PePper is a musical soul where known and unknown artists, hybrids, technicians… can pass each other.
MOLLy PePper is a want, a desire, coitus between music and picture.
MOLLy PePper is Rock & Roll and Classical at the same time.
MOLLy PePper likes perfume, Joy Division and The Velvet Underground; she likes Francis Bacon and Stanley Kubrick.
MOLLy PePper likes to take her time, going to the end of things and gives herself means to reach them.
MOLLy PePper is a young soul who circulates, who can be bought, who can be rented, who can be let and be shared.
MOLLy PePper travels between the various current mediums, she considers advertising as a major art as long as the original motivation remains intact. She can be seen on stage, in Paris or in London, at the cinema, in record dealer shops, in bookshops, on line… at the bend in the road.
MOLLy PePper is a particularly efficient narrative association between pictures and original musical themes.
MOLLy PePper works on real noises’ transformation into music. She likes making of a musical theme, the structural material of a film."

i saw an elephant.

vvv

ok, finally have enough time to post. recently ive discovered the amazing potential to find pretty much thousands of amazing bands on myspace. or more correctly put, ive only just really started looking for amazing bands on myspace. one band i found that are just brilliant is villains of wilhelm. these guys sound like a radical fusion of indie, garage, rock and everything good. have a listen.

Villains Of Wilhelm - Last Demand

Villains Of Wilhelm - Elephant

another lovelyy band I found is the sidewalk regrets, who remind me a bit of joy division mixed with a hint of moving units. due to jamie thomson's death in '00 they split up, but managed to make a number of haunting & compelling tracks, so also give them a listen. btw both bands are australian, how nice.

The Sidewalk Regrets - Blush

bruise coloured lesson.

i've been lazy, and finally found a spare moment. so blam. blog.

a band i got reallly into a while was pharaohs, they broke up. and leader cheetah pretty much evolved out of it.
what could be be described as 70's electric folk revival, mixed with some acoustic twist- they're alot softer, mellow and psychadelic than pharaohs- although dan crannitch's rad vocals still remain.
i've posted up both songs off their myspace, bloodlines and fly golden arrow pt.2, although a demo is available.

Leader Cheetah- Bloodlines

Leader Cheetah- Fly Golden Arrow Pt. 2

check out their myspace -www.myspace.com/leadercheetah, for extra information, and total grab the spiritual action demo.
good times ahoy!

fire in cairo.

475039396_l copy

ok so i figured its probably time to post some shit. thats maybe electric. yeeah its that time of the month again, remix time. first up. a nice little MSTRKRFT remix of new young pony club's 'get lucky'. making up one half of this rad electronic duo is Jesse F. Keeler, former member of death from above 1979 . AI-P makes up the other half of MSTRKRFT and oh wow, he was also the producer for dfa1979's debut (& unfortunately only) album, 'youre a woman i'm a machine' ok enough. here it is.

get lucky (MSTRKRFT remix) - new young pony club

ok so another band that i'm sure you've all heard of is justice. theyve just remixed klaxon's 'as above, so below'. also if youre in australia, klaxons are touring at the moment so go fucking check them out!

as above, so below (justice remix) - klaxons

also. maybe its a sin or something to remix bands that just weren't meant to be remixed (i know thats how i feel about placebo anyway) but the next few remixes of radiohead, rage against the machine and the cure just might be exceptions.

videotape (advert shock remix) - radiohead

killing in the name (mr. oizo remix) - rage against the machine

fire in cairo (digitalism remix) - the cure

ok pretty sure thats enough.

HAUNTED HOUSE.

so a band that i found through their myspace is reptiles, www.myspace.com/reptilesau.
these guys are from melbourne and can pretty much be catergorized as something along the lines of garage punk. or at least thats my diagnosis. they remind a bit like a mix of mudhoney and the horrors- bar the keys.
but yeah although short, their tracks are sweet and not to mention fucking catchy.
the track ive posted up is one ive had one repeat and ts called haunted house, rad shit.

reptiles- haunted house

if you want to listen to more i suggest you go to their myspace and check their stuff out.
its def a fresh change from all the electro thats being produced these days.
their doing an Australian tour with Dardanelles all round soon so if you like it, go out and support them. or if your not 18, get a fake id.

DIE MONDE & BRIAN LICHTENBERG

[image taken from DAN from Die Monde's myspace]

Die Monde ~ [dye] [mawnd]
(a.k.a. Diamond)

Die
-verb English (used without object)
to cease to live; become dead.
Monde
–noun French.
the world; people; society

i like them. quite a bit. check out 'olympus'.

die monde @ myspace

dan, the lead singer guy from die monde, is pretty stylish. which brings me to this next topic of interest, the guy i have been obsessing over since i found him - Brian Lichtenberg. i read in his comments on his myspace [i told you, obsessing] something about 'brientology', which is a form of thinking you should apply to every outfit-choosing session you partake in. oh dear i'm turning this into a fashion blog. just quickly!
think brien, look good. simple as that. from his fall '07 collection:

if i had the money right now, i'd buy every single one of his designs. pure genius. now uh, to relate this back to music...he uh, he dresses M.I.A at literally every show she does. she's kind of cool. check her out here.

oh man, so i've noticed everyone's been saying they'd like to do all these bands up the ass or whatevr, and i guess ive been pressured to say the same about juke-box products. it must have been fate cause these amazing, pretty much unknown frenchers actually found me through myspace. really dont know too much about them cept for the fact that theyre french and can do fuckamazing electrolyzzed covers of placebo. particularly this one:

every me - juke-box products

also, they make radcool songs that remind me a bit of the teenagers, mixed with a bit of yelle.

marianne - juke-box products

thunder! captain! this ship is drowning.

ok so a band i pretty much want to get in a cupboard with and make babies is damn arms. these guys started up in mid 2005 and have released an EP 'Patterns', a demo 'Homewrecker' and the debut album 'The Live Artex' is due soon. named after a futurama quote these guys play what can only be described as grungey-synth infused-indie trash-dance punk. with the smiths lyrics tattoed on their chests and with influences noted as being gang of four, my bloody valentine and new order, you know you gonna be askin' "z0mg!!1 th353 guyZ r0ck$!1! wh3r3 c4n 1 g37 m0r3!!1lolomgbbq"

there doing a tour with klaxons soon and i suggest you check them out.
anyways ive posted up a track off their EP, Patterns, called "i sink, therefore i swam"

damn arms - i sink, therefore i swam

aaaand something of the album, The Live Artex, called thirty-six. its a infectious tune so def give it a spin.

damn arms - thrity-six

mrs. justin timberlake

P9136352

yes, it's true. i am a straight male, with a girlfriend, and i would honestly-honestly-HONESTLY bed, or be bed by, mr. justin timberlake. he is the fucking epitome of sexy. but hmm. i doubt i'd ever get the chance to get that close to him. and even if i did, i think it'd be a case of surprise sex rather than mutual attraction. anyway, with my sexual frustration out of the way, here is a sweet, sweet, sweeeeet remix of JT's 'I Think She Knows' by those boys from new york, mysto & pizzi.

I Think She Knows - Justin Timberlake (Mysto & Pizzi Remix)

and omg what?! another daft punk remix? no way! yeah fuckers. deal. this one's pretty effing madhouse.

Harder Better Faster Stronger - Daft Punk (Ghetto Ruckus Remix)

i originally posted a link to a daft punk vs. testarossa overdrive remix by dj leggie, but it's fixed now.

p.s. if you want the dj leggie mix, just let us know ;]

2006_480_trentemoller copy

our first entry everr. basically this mp3 blog is going to be largely electronica/ synth pop/ indie/ alternative/ and whatever we think is shit-hot/ influenced. expect mad amazing music. i'll start off with some trentemoller. this guy made his debut in 1997 together with DJ T.O.M. when they started playing live-house concerts and shot to fame. he's just released 'the chronicles', awesome music with a chilled out vibe.

Moan (remix radio)

Miss you
